I'm in Vegas that weekend. Bummer.

As information, if you are a non-UP employee, you will likely need to have an ID with you in order to get a security pass and I will need to register you as a guest, so make sure you provide your full name either as your profile name or in a message to me.

I don't have a laptop. Will there be computers I can use?

Comment by Matt Steele on January 25, 2012 at 4:33pm

Union Pacific employees can use the desktop computers available in the training center. For non-UPers, I'd suggest bringing a laptop.

Then again, since we'll be pair programming, you should be able to find someone with a laptop and just code on theirs :)

Have a great time this weekend. Really exciting!

We're less than 24 hours from the code retreat, so I've got a few last-minute notes:

  • Be sure to bring a photo ID so building security can match you with your registration.
  • Breakfast and lunch will be provided, but we won't have access to any snacks or vending machines, so you may want to bring your own snacks/sodas if you want them.
  • The rooms are on the second floor of the building; if you'll need elevator assistance, send me a message beforehand and we can let security know.
  • You might want to set up your dev environment tonight so we can get right into coding. All you need is a language where you can run unit tests.

See everyone tomorrow!

I just wanted to thank everyone who attended the retreat.  I hope you had a great time!  I look forward to seeing you again next time, along with anyone else who could not attend this time around.

If there are any comments on things that would make our next code retreat even better, please feel free to share.
